Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a video game developed by Relic Entertainment and was published by THQ in September 2011. This video game features a third person action genre where players can are provided a full view of their characters with a third person view. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine also features an action oriented game play where players can fight their opponents using both ranged and melee weapons. This game has two game modes: a single player mode where players can play the game’s story and a multiplayer mode that can be played online or through a Local Access Network connection.

In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, players take control of a character named Captain Titus, the commander of the 2nd Company of Ultramarines in his mission to stop an invasion of savage Orks who intend to destroy human presence in the planet. Captain Titus is accompanied by his right hand man, Sergeant Sidonus, and an inexperienced marine, Leandros. During the start of the game, players are equipped with a pistol and a combat knife. Players can get stronger weapons such as rifles, shotguns, axes, and hammers as the story progresses. The game’s multiplayer mode features player versus player and co-operative game types. In player versus player, players can choose between three character classes: Tactical, Devastator, and Assault. Players can also choose between two game types such as Annihilation where players need to score forty one kills in order to win a match and Seize Ground where players are required to capture and defend specific parts of the map for a set period of time.
