Burrrn

Gambit (Freeware)

Burrrn is audio CD-burning software developed by Gambit in October 2005. Burrrn supports various audio formats including wav, mp3, ogg, aac, and mp4 audio files. Burrrn can also read audio tags from such formats. For audiophiles, Burrrn also offers CD burning of lossless audio files, particularly FLAC files. This program can also burn specialized audio formats like EAC’s noncompliant image + cue sheets.

Burrrn’s Graphical User Interface (GUI) is a simple gray box. Topmost part gives the user an option to specify Album Title and Artist, and a big Burrrn button for one-click burning. Users can also specify the writing speed and the actions to take after burn action is complete including Eject and Close CD. The major part of the GUI shows the audio files to be burned with corresponding track number, name, and track length. Users can add audio files to be burned by simple drag and drop. Right-clicking any audio file gives the user an option to Play, Rename, or Delete. On the right-hand portion of the interface is shown the approximate CD length and a number of buttons which opens up the Disc Info, Settings and the About page.

Burrrn’s Settings button opens up to three tabs including General, Decoders, and Replay Gain. General allows the user to specify the CD writer whether the hardware or a virtual drive. Decoders tab allows the user to specify decoders per audio format. Replay Gain tab allows the user to normalize the CD by adjusting specific track volume to be in sync with other tracks. Replay Gain offers Album adjustment and Track adjustment.
