TransMac is a windows application developed by Acute Systems. It is used for copying files from and to Macintosh disks that cannot be accessed from Microsoft operating system. The program offers support for most disk types including diskettes, CD-ROM, hard drives, and other removable media. It detects Macintosh disks automatically. The application offers different actions for users. It can be used for writing and reading data. It can also copy, delete, and rename files and folder the same way it can be done on a regular disk.
TransMac has a feature to burn disk images in different formats including ISO, DMG, and IMG. It can also be used to save and restore an entire disk image. A Search Tool is also available for browsing different types of file as well as different types of data and extensions. It offers three setting menus – PC, General, and Mac. These settings can be used to configure files the same way Mac-formatted disks are configured. The application can also be used to read Mac hybrid and multisession CDs. It features Automatic File Type/Extension Mapping between different platforms as well. Displaying and changing Mac creator and type information is also possible.
TransMac supports various types of drive interface including IDE, FireWire, ATAPI, SCSI and more. It also has support for both HFS+/HFSX and HFS format disks.
