WinDVD Application

WinDVD is a multimedia player that was initially released in 1998. The program is capable of playing audio and video files in the most popular formats. The player has all the controls needed on a menu that pops up when the mouse pointer is moved. Options such as Play, Rewind, Fast Forward, Pause, and others are seen on the Menu. Users are also able to make their own movie playlist for continuous movie viewing. Other features when watching a movie with the program include the following:

• Video desktop so that movie plays in the background
• Boss key that hides WinDVD on the desktop
• Closed captioning
• Video bookmarks
• Screen snapshots

WinDVD provides a wide range of listening environments to choose from. Some options include ‘Noisy’, wherein the audio range is enhanced when listening to music in a noisy environment, and ‘Theater Effect’, to mimic the sound range to achieve sound similar to theater quality.

The program also has other features that will improve a user’s experience while watching a movie. Some of these features include color correction and lighting settings, standard to HD video upscaling, video stabilization, and motion streamliner. WinDVD supports audio and video formats such as DVD-Video, MPEG-2, WAV, MP3, and WMV HD.
