DVD Flick is a DVD authoring application. It supports over 40 types of audio codecs, and over 70 video codecs. Some of these include popular formats, such as Flash Video, FLAC lossless; MPEG Layer 1, 2, and 3 (MP3); MPEG-4 (DivX/Xvid), AAC, and many more. Users can burn audio and video files on discs, or create an ISO image for burning a bootable disc. DVD Flick is also capable of importing subtitles in four formats – .ssa/.ass, .srt, .sub, and SubView.
The program can be used even by novice computer users. The options for converting and burning are seen on the main window. The icons present on the main window include ‘New project’, ‘Open project’, ‘Save project’, ‘Project settings’, and ‘Create DVD’. DVD Flick also has a ‘Guide’ icon that users can read for tips on how to use the program. Once the burning is in progress, a progress window appears showing the activities done and which ones are still pending.
DVD Flick does not include video or audio editing tools. However, users can make a simple main menu for navigating when playing a DVD disc. One of the features of DVD Flick is support for direct ‘stream copy’ for MPEG-2 video streams. However, this feature is not available for audio streaming.
