Railroad Tycoon 3

Railroad Tycoon 3 is a business simulation game developed by PopTop Software as the third installment to its Railroad Tycoon game franchise. It was released in October 2003. This game features a single player campaign made up of different missions segregated by continent. There are four mission types—North American, European, World, and Futuristic Missions. The campaign interface is featured on a railway museum interior with a museum tour guide explaining the campaign missions.

Railroad Tycoon 3 North American Missions features several locations like Germantown, San Francisco, Texas, and the Mid-Atlantic  states of Virginia and New York.  Railroad Tycoon 3 European missions feature the states of Germany, Great Britain, and France. World missions feature Argentina, Eastern Africa, and Japan. This game also features a Futuristic mission set in the years of 2021-2080. It includes locations like Greenland, Western Europe, and California. Aside from campaign missions, the game also features standalone scenarios that take place in France, Western Europe, Australia, and post-war Italy.

Railroad Tycoon 3 also offers Loco Commotion—a train-based puzzle game which offers route solving, and shunting puzzles using trains in various railroad environments through multiple levels. PopTop Software also released a Coast to Coast Expansion pack which offers new maps and locomotives. This expansion pack also allows users to customize locomotive skins, logos, and even players. It also features new units like rolling stocks, building types, and industries.
