Ahnlab V3 Internet Security, or simply V3 IS, is a data security application developed by AhnLab, Inc. It is used for securing data by preventing online threats from accessing the system resources. This restricts unwanted applications as well as malicious threats from being installed in the computer. Using its cloud-based DNA Scan and Smart Defense technology, the program provides dynamic and continuous protection against malicious threats such as worms, viruses, spyware, Trojans and the like. Aside from protecting the computer system, V3 IS also features web security by filtering URLs and locking phishing sites. This will help prevents leakage of confidential data.

Ahnlab V3 Internet Security also provides mail security. It prevents malicious instant messages and emails from attacking the user’s email account by performing real-time scans on both incoming and outgoing emails. The program is capable of blocking harmful network threats through its network intrusion prevention functionality. Intruders can also not access the network through the program’s two-way personal firewall. The program doesn’t only protect the computer. It can also scan and remove malicious files on portable storage devices.  There’s also the data wipe feature, which removes important and confidential files. It uses overwriting algorithm to ensure that all data traces are removed preventing recovery tools from acquiring sensitive files. V3 IS also has a PC Tune-up feature. It clears registries, temporary files and other unnecessary data to improve computer performance.
