Battlefield 1942: The Road To Rome

Battlefield 1942: The Road To Rome is the official expansion pack for the game Battlefield 1942. The game was first released in 2003 in North America. This expansion pack offers new maps. All the maps available in this game are based on the Italian campaign. Players are also now capable of selecting two new armies – the Italians or the French. The game offers two game modes – Single Player and Multiplayer. The goal of the game is to defeat the opposing forces. So, if the player chose the Allies army, the player’s goal is to defeat the Axis army and vice versa.

Like the original game, The Road to Rome is set during World War II and offers maps based on some real battles occurred during this period. However, the game is set in a new theater – Italy – unlike the original game, which was set in different theaters. There are five forces in The Road to Rome. These forces are divided into two – Allies (i.e. United Kingdom, USA and Free French forces) and Axis (i.e. Italy and Nazi Germany). In this game, the player takes the role of one of the available infantry classes (i.e. Anti-Tank, Scout, Engineer, Assault or Medic). Players can operate various vehicles present in World War II including submarines, fighter aircraft, APCs, tanks and more.
