The PDF-Xchange Viewer application is a PDF reader with multiple functions. The program allows users to create PDF files from scanned images, photos, .txt and .rtf files, or create PDF files from scratch. The program features OCR (Optical Character Recognition) options so that PDF files are searchable. It also has an IFilter Fast Search option for searching texts on documents, comments, bookmarks, titles, authors, and more. PDF-Xchange Viewer has a Typewriter Mode wherein users can edit and type text on PDF files easily, even if they are not Adobe-enabled. Other features of the program are:

integrated Shell Extensions for displaying thumbnails on Windows Explorer
The PDF-Xchange Viewer program also provides security measures for the user including AES password encryption and adding or editing permissions for viewing files. Downloaded files are also secure with the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) technology. This prevents scripts from threats to be executed on the computer. The program can be used by beginners.
