Grand Theft Auto V by Rockstar Games is a mission-based, open-world, storytelling gameplay video game set in the fictional countryside, beaches and urban areas of Los Santos in the state of San Andreas. It is available on two platforms: on the Xbox 360 and on PlayStation 3.
The game is the latest installment in the popular game franchise. It is a re-imagining of the city of Los Angeles and the rest of Southern California. The game is a step towards a new direction that Rockstar has envisioned for the Grand Theft Auto series. The game developer/publisher provided an open-world multiplayer functionality as the major change to the game’s formula. This functionality has its similarity to Max Payne 3’s “Crews” or Social Club feature which literally has the two games’ players cross-over from one game to the other seamlessly.
Three characters (Michael, Trevor, and Franklin) are the featured protagonists with interconnected storylines. They are unlike the other protagonists who appeared in the earlier GTA titles. Michael represents someone who has made it big from a life of crime and is now just adjusting to a normal life that the wealthy live. Trevor is a former partner of Michael who is being thrust back into a life of crime after failing to become successful. Franklin, on the other hand, has had no experience in being a criminal but his efforts at avoiding a life of crime only gets him deeper into it.
