J. River Media Jukebox is an application used for the management of music collections. Audio files may be played and organized using the program. It also serves as a CD ripper, and audio disc burning tool for creating personal audio discs. One can create music smartlists, groups, playlists, and personal music libraries.

Program interface is streamlined and can be customized by effects and a built-in skin manager. The interface also provides comprehensive file information like music genre, rating, and ID3 tagging. Compatible files from one’s computer are automatically added to the program’s media library. Audio podcasts may be played and downloaded as well. A format converter function is used to encode and convert an audio file from one format to another. Track playback volume and optimal tempo are determined by the program’s audio analyzer.  Functions that can be customized include custom fields, resizable icons and windows, custom views, audio autoplay and analysis, and auto-logging and auto-ripping. Other application features include an audio equalizer, a Favorites manager, import and export functions, and 3D visuals among others. Album art, track lookup, and CD covers and labels printing tools are also provided. Audio may be synched and transferred to devices such as mobile phones and iPods.
