IBM Lotus Symphony is a free collection of tools used for productivity. Three applications that comprise the suite are Lotus Symphony Spreadsheets, Documents, and Presentations. It supports multiple file types and formats such as those of Microsoft Office and Windows.
Users of Lotus notes can share, edit, and create spreadsheets, texts, presentations, and documents using the program. PDF files can be exported, and files from Open XML can be imported using the suite. Support and enhancements for a million bubble charts, spreadsheet rows, and home page designs are also provided. Installation takes up some time to complete since IBM Lotus Symphony is a suite and because of numerous files that have to be transferred to the computer. A collection of tools found in the suite include drawings, spell checkers, graphics, and a calculator, to name a few. An Integrated Browser feature is able to open web pages contained in the main window without the need for other software to navigate the Web. The suiteās capabilities can be extended through the use of third-party plug-ins. Suite support, tips, and templates are made available by an online community. The program takes up a lot of system resources to run.
The program was discontinued on January 2012.
