Pictomio is an application for the management of picture, image, and video collections, and 3D-accelerated images. PictoGEO is a program add-on provides GPS compatibility. A geo-tagging feature enables geographical data to be attached to digital images. An interactive Map function lets users choose between Microsoft Virtual Earth and Google Maps.

Individuals of any computer level can use the program. The interface makes for simple navigation and comes with animated elements, expandable panes, and an Explorer-based layout. In the program’s Setting menu, users can smooth screen font edges, sychronize vertical traces, disable automatic update checking, anti-aliasing, and reflections, alter resolution for full screen, and change interface language. Viewing modes for images are carousel, single image, thumbnail, and filmstrip. A carousel viewing mode feature displays the image as a 3D thumbnail that can be “spinned” with one’s mouse. Other functions which can be performed are creating favorites, rating images, creating albums, switching into full screen, specifying image category, and assigning label colors. Slideshows can be created from images, and users can edit transition durations and slides. Redo and undo functions makes for easy editing of images. Users can index photograph data and view EXIF information. Uploading, downloading, and importing of images from websites like YouTube and Flickr is also allowed.
