Dr. Black Jack

Dr. Black Jack is a computer game released in 1992 that features the card game, Black Jack. Black Jack is a popular card game played in casinos all over the world. It is where two of more players make use of one or more decks of 52 cards. Unlike other card games, the players in this game do not compete against themselves. Instead, they compete with the dealer. A player can win by getting a score of 21 or a score higher than that of the dealer but is less than 21. Initially, the players will be given two cards. Kings, Jacks, and Queens, are equivalent to ten points, the Ace is equivalent to 11 points or 1 point, and the rest of the cards on the deck are equivalent to the numbers shown on them.

Dr. Black Jack has a simple game interface much like that of Solitaire. Using the “Learn Basic Strategy” option, the game software tells the player when to hit, when to stand, and when to double down. Hit is a decision to take another card from the dealer. Stand means that the player will not take any card anymore. Double down means that the player will increase the bet by as much as 100% in exchange for a stand decision after exactly one more hit. “Card counting “ is another option provided in the game where the player infers on the remaining cards held by the dealer based on what has already been shown.
