ZoomText 9

ZoomText 9 is a simple application first released in 1988. It allows the user to magnify the screen of Microsoft Windows. As a magnifying tool, it is geared towards users with impaired vision. It allows users to see and hear everything shown on the computer screen while continuing to provide complete access to computer applications, documents, email functions, and the Internet. For users that are using dual monitor, the user can choose the specific area of the screen that needs magnification. The program can magnify up to 36 times the original size. Users can also minimize magnification down to  1.25, 1.5, and 1.75.

ZoomText 9 has Zoom Window Type, Zoom Window Adjust, Zoom Window Freeze, Color Enhancements, Points Enhancements, Cursor Enhancements, and Web Finder functionalities. Other key features of this application include the following:

• Smooth Navigation- Navigating the screen can be done by dragging the mouse to the location that needs magnification. It can be restricted horizontally or vertically, depending on the need of the user.
• Zoom Window View – This feature utilizes a view locator to select area(s) that will be magnified.
• All-Color Smoothing – This feature smoothens magnified text so it is easy on the eyes.
• Desktop Finder – This feature makes it easy to find programs on different sections of the computer including the desktop, system tray, quick launch bar, control panel, programs menu and My Documents folder.
