Firefox is an open source web browser that was released in 2004. The web browser has an ‘Awesome
Bar’ that adapts to your search preferences so that you won’t need to type a specific web address each
time you want to visit a certain website. The auto-complete function includes matches from sites you
bookmark, websites you have open, and your browsing history. You can have multiple websites open
with the help of tabbed browsing, wherein multiple web pages can be viewed in one browser window.
Firefox also has a feature that allows you to sync desktop preferences to your mobile device running on
Firefox. You can access your bookmarks, open tabs, passwords, and browsing history when you sync.
A search box is located at the right of the location bar. The search bar provides several search services,
such as those of Google, Yahoo, and Bing. The search bar can also act as a calculator and converter.
Other features of Firefox include private browsing, anti-virus integration, anti-phishing, and automated
updates. Users are also able to customize the web browser’s security settings for passwords,
installation, and blocking of websites.
This web browser is customizable. There are add-ons available for alerts, management, shopping,
security, and more. The Add-ons Manager allows you to browse descriptions, recommendations, and
ratings of the add-ons that are available for downloading.
