Gretech Online Movie Player or GOM Player is a multimedia player. The program was initially released in 2003. It is being distributed by the Gretech Corporation of South Korea and is the primary online client player for South Korea’s streaming service - GOM-TV. GOM Player can play a wide range of media file formats. GOM Player can play MP3, WAV, QCELP, Vorbis, AMR, and EVRC audio formats.
It also supports most video formats with its built-in codec system. These formats include MPEG, DAT, AVI, XviD, DivX, and FLV. As for subtitles, GOM Player supports srt, ssa, ass, srt, smi, sub, sub/idx, smil, and unicode text subtitle formats. It can also read embedded subtitles of ogm, asf, and mkv formats.
GOM Player also supports online streaming and can also play damaged or incomplete avi files. It skips the damaged frames so that it doesn’t freeze on playback. It also allows playback of media files as they’re being downloaded or shared. GOM Player can also be customized with different application skins, key remapping, enhanced filter rendering, overlay mixer, and more.
