Windows Live Photo Gallery is an application used for managing photos. It can also be used for editing and sharing photos and images. Photos saved on the computer’s hard drive can be imported to the program by clicking on the “Import” button on the upper left side of the main window. Once the photos are imported, they come out on the main area of the application. From there, users can select an image and tweak them.
Tools are located under different menus that are on the upper part of the main window. These menus include Home, Find, Edit, Create, and View. Users can add descriptive tags, add people tags, rate photos, flag photos, and categorize them by date. Editing features included in the application are auto adjustment of colors, cropping, retouching, straightening, noise reduction, and others. There are also effects that can be applied to the images. After editing images, they can be shared in different ways.
Other features of the application are the following:
• merge two or more photos into one to create a group photo
• users can upload photos and images to different networking websites, such as Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube, and others
• comes with several slideshow themes, such as cinematic, contemporary, pan and zoom, black and white, sepia, and others
