Reader Library

Sony Corporation (Bundled)

Reader Library is an application developed by Sony to enable its Sony Reader users to import digital content from the Internet. The Sony Reader is Sony’s line of ebook readers. It can display books in the proprietary BBeB format as well as those in ePub and PDF format. Additionally, the Sony Reader can show RSS newsfeeds and JPEG files. Some Readers also have the capability to play unencrypted AAC audio tracks as well as MP3 files.

Sony Reader users may download ebooks as well as image and audio files and transfer these to the Reader using the library application. This application also allows users to manage, read, view, or play their music, image, and ebook content in their Sony Readers. This tool also enables Sony Reader users to purchase ebooks from the company’s Reader Store.

With Reader Library, users can:

• Borrow digital books from the local library where the user is registered. Users will need to register and verify information in their library card.
• Read books from a computer instead of the Reader device. There are options for viewing text in a one-page or two-page mode.
• Sync newspaper and magazine subscriptions. Users can choose to automatically sync their subscriptions (made through the Reader Store) to their Sony Reader.
• Access and purchase new releases, old titles, and books in the New York Times Bestsellers list.
