Asterix & Obelix XXL

Asterix & Obelix XXL is a 3rd person action adventure game developed by the French company, Étranges Libellules. Based on the popular comics, Asterix and Obelix, this game follows the exploits of the two characters, along with their pet Dogmatix. They go hunting in the forest when a storm suddenly arrives, which causes Dogmatix to run away in horror. As they look for Dogmatix, they bump into a former secret agent of Caesar who agrees to join Asterix and Obelix in their plans to thwart the Roman forces. When Asterix arrives at their village, they discover that it has been overrun and set on fire by the Romans. He manages to defeat them all and proceeds to meet Obelix to continue their search for Dogmatix. However, the former Roman agent informs them that some of the people from their village have been abducted by the Romans.

The player assumes the roles of both Asterix and Obelisk, whose main task is to rescue every single one of their fellow villagers from the Romans. In order to accomplish this, the player must solve multiple puzzles and overcome numerous traps in each level. At the beginning of the game, the player encounters a Clue Man who basically gives a short tutorial on how to attack each puzzle. Credits are gained by defeating a specific number of Roman soldiers and can be spent on combos and various quick fix items. The player can also unlock several mini-games by finding golden laurels in a certain area.
