VSO Media Player is a software for playing common formats of media files. Formats include mp3, FLAC, WMA, 3GP, FLV, MOV, AVI, MPG, and many more. Basic functions such as play-pause-stop, volume adjustment, image appearance, navigation back and forth in the video, and switching to full screen mode are available. Users can load and save playlists, choose the video and audio stream, insert subtitles, and modify picture settings. The player also features drag-and-drop and navigation panel functionalities. These allow users to create playlists and move from one audio or video title to another.

VSO Media Player is compatible with Blu-ray and DVD files. Users that need to read their Blu-ray disk from an optical drive may have to use decrypting applications like AnyDVD. The software is capable of reading HD, AVCHD (Advanced Video Coding High Definition), DVD, and .iso content. It also provides multi-version and multi-angle support. Smooth playback is made possible through the program’s multicore support that enhances the player’s stability. An audio booster is added to improve the sound-playing ability of the media player.

In terms of configuring advanced settings, the player provides functions for editing text subtitles, including their size, font, and color. Users can switch between Direct 3D or GDI (Graphics Device Interface) settings for viewing videos. With CUDA support, the VSO Media Player contains video card acceleration capabilities combined with support for nVidia video cards for a better graphics viewing experience.
