Nero DriveSpeed is a program developed by Nero to adjust the reading speed of all the single CD-Rom drive available in a computer system. This program is particularly designed for handling damaged disks. It is also used for reducing noise level for games and music playback as well as spinning up and down times to optimize damaged files. Nero DriveSpeed can be access in two ways – through Nero StartSmart or Nero DriveSpeed directly. After launching the program, a single small interface will be displayed with all the necessary options and configurations for adjusting reading speed.
At the program’s main window, users can choose the drive at the Drive Selection List. Read speeds of the drives are displayed at the Read Speed (CD) and Read Speed (DVD) in the main window. The main window also displays the Spin-down Time that shows how long Nero will take to reduce the read speed of the drive. There’s also an option to mute the drive during the process and a Fast option for accessing the drive as fast as possible. At the main window, Nero DriveSpeed also displays an Options menu. This menu will show different options in the program including the media selection list, input area for the read speed, speed input field, run at startup, start minimized, restore speed settings at system startup, and more.
