PDF Protection Remover is a simple application for decrypting PDF documents. It is capable of decrypting various encryption types, such as 128 and 256 bit AES, 128 bit RC4, and 40 bit RC4 encryptions. By removing protection from the document, users are able to copy, edit, print, and extract text from the file. Adobe Acrobat or other PDF viewers are not needed in order to use this application.
This application’s user interface has two tabs – one for the File List and the other for the Settings. Adding PDF documents to the program can be done by clicking on the “Add” button, which is located at the top portion of the window. Alternatively, users can also drag and drop files to the interface. A numbered list of all the files added will be displayed on the main window. Other information displayed include the filename, encryption status, number of pages for the PDF document, and the file size. Under the Setting tab, users can select the output destination for the unprotected document. After selecting PDF documents to decrypt, users just need to click on the “Start” button in order to start the decrypting process. PDF Protection Remover is easy to use even for those who are not computer savvy.
