Word Up is a computer game that was first released in 2005. The game allows players to spell words using only the letters that are available on the game grid. It offers three game modes – arcade, strategy, and vanilla. In Arcade mode, players must spell out words under time pressure. In strategy mode, players must spell out long words in an untimed mode. In vanilla mode, players can spell out words in a relaxed setting.
The game window is divided into different sections. The game grid has 36 tiles, each with a letter. Users can use their mouse button to select the tiles one by one in order to spell words. Successfully spelled words are displayed as a list at the right side of the window together with the points given. Spelling longer words give the player more points. Each level is also timed, so users must spell as many words as they can before the time is up in order to get the most points and level up.
Word Up is a puzzle game that allows users to improve their spelling skills, vocabulary, and exercise their brains. Aside from playing the single player mode, users can also compete with other players around the world.
