AutoHDR 2.15

AutoHDR is a graphics application developed by Martin and Anna. The program enables users to create HDR images using just one image file. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. It is a technique commonly employed in photography and imaging to achieve greater range of luminosity than normal photographic techniques. Using HDR imaging allows users to capture the different intensity levels as perceived by the human eye, from the faintest of lights to blaring sunlight. Traditionally, HDR imaging is done using not less than 3 low dynamic images, each shot in a different tonal range, to capture the darkest shadows and brightest highlights. Afterwards, these three shots will be merged together to create the HDR image. However, for AutoHDR, users only need one photo to create the same effect.

AutoHDR features a classic grey user interface. The left panel displays the buttons to Open Images, Process it, and Save the finished product. The program supports several image file formats for output, including JPG, GIF, PNG, and TIFF. Users can choose from the choices on the left panel before saving the HDR image. The Options menu, located on the left panel, enables users to customize different aspects of the image including Detail, Contrast, Noise, Colour, Shadows, Sharpen, and Highlight. The bottom part of the left panel shows the camera settings used to capture the image including the ISO, shutter speed, aperture, and EV compensation. The whole right side of the interface is dominated by the Preview window.
