Redneck Kentucky is a first-person shooter action game developed by City Interactive. Its full title is Redneck Kentucky and the Next Generation Chickens and it was released for the European market in 2008. The game is set in rural Kentucky in the United States, and as the full game title suggests, it features chickens. The chickens have gone mad and formed a vengeful behavior against their owners. Banding together, the chickens are planning to take over the world, but they must first attack the player, who assumes the role of the chickens’ owner and the only one who can fight the chickens before they spread out and attack the rest of civilization.
The chicken farmer comes prepared to face the mad chickens. Players are first given a shotgun to protect themselves against the chickens and reduce their numbers. Players move around the different scenarios in the game. Every kill earns them points, and as they progress they may also pick up bonuses and power-ups to upgrade their weapons. The bonuses help players reduce the mad chicken population significantly, and players must make use of these properly. Players must move and aim their weapon quickly because the chickens may quickly run away. The game offers players a crosshatch to help them with aiming their weapons.
