Streampix is a program that allows users to record videos and use their computers as a management console when taking pictures. The program supports a wide variety of video cameras and still cameras and several of them can be connected to the computer to be used with the application. The program comes with a user manual that users can read to know more about the different tools and features included in the application.

The program has an intuitive user interface that looks just like the ribbon interface for Microsoft Office programs. All the menus and tools are located at the upper portion of the window is the main work area is placed at the center. With this application images can be exported as MOV, AVI, FITS, PNG, JPEG, TIFF, and BMP. Moreover, users have complete control over the customization of the program, including the tools and functions that appear on the main window. This can be done under the Options window.
