Sudden Strike Iwo Jima 1.4

Sudden Strike Iwo Jima is a 3D strategy game set in World War II. Its story highlights the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945, wherein the US military forces fought against the armies of the Japanese Empire. In this game, players assume the role of a soldier, either for the U.S. army or the Japanese forces. The game’s 3D graphics make the scenes and objects in the game realistic. The sound and special effects add to the game’s overall appeal.

Upon starting the game, players can choose a nickname to use. In the campaign mode, players are given two choices: to be an American or a Japanese soldier. If the player chooses to be a soldier of the United States, he or she will be tasked to be part of the US Navy and U.S. Marine Corps who are sent to take over Iwo Jima from the Imperial army. There are eight objectives for this campaign. The first is to land safely on the island, and another is to take over the flag. When all of the the objectives are met, players advance to the next mission.

If the player chooses to be part of the Japanese forces, he or she will then be tasked to defend the island from the incoming American soldiers. The game provides power ups to help players accomplish their missions.
