USB FireWall 1.1.3 is a security tool that protects users from malicious programs that attempt to launch each time a USB drive inserted into the computer. It scans the inserted USB device for malware and informs the user if such is found in the device, whether it is a thumb drive, an external hard drive, a camera, or any other device. This utility runs in the background its window is hidden until such time that it finds a malicious program in an inserted USB device. It places an icon in the computer’s system tray, and a notification alert will pop up if a malicious program is detected.
The notification window will display the files that try to launch and lets users see the Autorun.inf file. Users can then choose to remove the malware by clicking on the “Delete” button. This tool also has a “Clean all partitions” feature that can clean the computer’s hard drive partitions of auto-launched applications and associated files by deleting the respective autorun files, and stop these if these are already running.
USB FireWall 1.1.3 does not take up a lot of CPU and memory resources and does not affect the processes of other running programs. This security tool is simple and may be easily utilized by both novices and advanced users.
