Process Hacker is a free and open-sourced program that enables users to monitor and configure their computer‘s processes. This program provides a customizable view of the computer’s processes along with information about each process. This information includes the full process performance history, stacks, and threads listing as well as help symbols, token information, module, mapped file information, virtual memory map, environment variables, and handles. Process Hacker displays the processes in a highlighted tree view and enables users to start, stop, resume, and delete system processes. Highlight colors denote the priority of the process and is displayed in blue green, purple, pale yellow, and white. In addition to initiating and terminating processes, users can also debug and reduce them.

Process Hacker enables full user control over processes that can bypass security software and root kits. Users can also view, edit, and control various services that are not displayed in the Services console. Process Hacker can start up instantly and can easily be accessed from the system tray. Aside from processes, the program also allows users to view and close network connections. Compared to other process monitoring programs, Process Hacker comes with advanced features used to view GDI (Graphics Device Interface) handles, viewing heaps, detaching from debuggers, as well as injecting and unloading DLLs (Dynamic Link Library).
