WinAce Archiver is an archiving program first released in 1992. This program enables users to store their computer files into compressed file archives without losing any of the file’s data. WinAce Archiver supports the various file archive formats. This program can compress files into MS-CAB, LHA, ZIP, ACE, and JAVA JAR formats while it can decompress the aforementioned files including ACR, ARJ, GZip, TAR, ZOO, and JAR. Users can archive files by starting up the main WinAce Archiver program or by right clicking the folder and selecting the program from the quick menu.
WinAce Archiver contains security features that allow users to create a password for their file archives. This feature ensures that the archive can only be opened by the user. In addition, WinAce Archiver has self-extracting archives or SFX modules for ACE and WinZip formats and an integrated viewer for RTF, HTML, ASCII, as well as word and text documents. The program also has features that allow users to recover data from corrupted archive files and create an Authenticity Verification signature for ACE file archives. This program also provides detailed information for all file archive types and provides a table of contents for ACE and ZIP files. This can be accessed in the Properties panel.
