Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is a video game developed by 2015, Inc. and was published by Electronic Arts in 2002. This game is the third installment in the Medal of Honor Series. The game features a first-person shooter genre, a type of a video game genre where players engage in projectile weapon-based combat through a first-person perspective. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault simulates infantry combat set in the European and North African theatres of World War II.
In Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, the player takes control of Lt. Mike Powell of the United States Army Rangers who also works for the Office of Strategic Services, the U.S. Army’s wartime intelligence division. The player must accomplish a variety of combat objectives such as rescuing comrades behind enemy lines, destroying enemy positions, providing fire support, and defending the player’s position to be able to clear a game level. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault has six levels in its campaign mode. Each level is set in different combat zones during the European and North African allied campaigns.
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault players are equipped with three weapon types: a main weapon that includes assault rifles, sniper rifles, and machine guns, a secondary weapon, which includes a pistol, and a throwable weapon like a grenade. The weapons used in the game are modeled after real weapons that were used in World War II. Players can use weapons such as the M1 Garand, Springfield Sniper rifle, Thompson Submachine Gun, MP40, MG42 Machine Gun, and many more. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault focuses on real life combat actions such as taking cover, observation, ammo conservation, and stealth.
