VideoLAN Client, or simply VLC, Media Player is a multi-functional media player for different kinds of video and audio formats. It was first released in February 2001. VLC is a media player that can play a number of video formats, like MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, and WMV files. This program also supports playing of various audio types, such as MIDI, MP3, and WMA, to name a few.
VLC Media Player also supports the following input formats and media: DVDs, video CDs, and audio CDs. Additionally, VLC Media Player is also capable of network streaming protocols, like HTTP, MMS, RTSP, and UDP/RTP Unicast and Multicast. It also plays files from webcams and other video devices.
VCL Media Player has a simple interface which allows you to access your media files. You can also take screen stills or snapshots while playing videos. Various types of special effects and filters may also be applied to the videos, such as blurs, color effects, gradients, rotations, and waves. Logos and texts may also be applied to video files. Converting files to MP4, MPEG-1, WAV, etc may also be done through the use of its convert and save option. VLC Media Player supports some browsers too, such as Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. VLC Media Player runs on all platforms.
