ASUS Data Security Manager

ASUS Data Security Manager is a data protection program developed by ASUSTek Computer Inc. This program uses a traditional method – locking of data – for protecting computers. The program’s main purpose is to add another layer of protection by combining network accounts and user passwords using a single data called the User Identity. It also prevents others from accessing the notebook without permission from the owner. The application features multifactor authentication technology, which makes all private data available only to the user account. It also features a hint of password that offers a clue for the user’s password.

ASUS Data Security Manager offers Auto Logout with idle interval from 1 minute to 30 minutes. Creating multiple vaults is allowed with an option to choose what type of display to be used (either hidden or normal). The program also offers the Backup Wizard feature. This feature offers three options to users – Backup, Restore, or Migrate vaults. The Backup feature can be used to create backup archive for the user vaults and encryption key. There is also the Restore feature, which is used for restoring the vaults and encryption key. However, this operation will prevent users from accessing existing encrypted files/vaults because of different user encryption keys. The Migrate Vaults feature is used for migrating ADSM vaults from another ASUS computer to another.
