BOSS GUI, which stands for Better Oblivion Sorting Software, is a small program that is used to sort mod files for various video games. This program is a popular mod organizer for video games, such as The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Nehrim – At Fate’s Edge, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 3. A game mod or modification is a software component developed by game designers and the public for commercial video games. Game mods add new features to a video game’s gameplay. These includes new character designs, new weapons, items, enemies, models, levels, textures, story lines, game modes, and even music. It may be applied into the game’s single player and multiplayer modes. Game Mods are exported as individual files and are applied into the game by saving it to the installed game’s system folder. Better Oblivion Sorting Software works by organizing these files and allowing video game players as well as mod developers to manage their mod files from different folders in their computer. this program is also used to configure game running options for the mod files.

Better Oblivion Sorting Software features a simple user interface that has three main control parts. the first part is the output options that allows users to show BOSS log on completion, display plug-in versions, display file CRCs, and choose the BOSS format. the next part contains the run options that contains controls used to sort mod files and plug-in, update the mod master list, and undo changes to the list. The last part contains buttons to edit user rules, run BOSS, and view BOSS log.
