Canon Utilities CameraWindow is a utility application that enables users to quickly transfer image files from their Canon Digital Camera into their computers. This application is free of charge and can be found in the install discs provided upon purchasing certain models of Canon digital cameras such as EOS 10D, EOS 5D, EOS 20D, EOS 20DA, EOS 1D Mark II, EOS 1Ds Mark II, EOS 1Ds, EOS 1D, EOS 400 Digital, EOS D30, EOS D60, and many more. Canon Utilities CameraWindow works by providing an interface where users may select photos and transfer them at once from the camera’s memory into a particular folder in the user’s hard drive. This program supports different camera image formats such as RAW, SRAW, and JPEG. Canon Utilities CameraWindow also prepares the user’s photos for editing by allowing the images to be imported to an image-editing program.
Canon Utilities CameraWindow features a simple, wizard-type interface. Upon plugging the Canon digital camera with a USB cable, the application will automatically activate and prompt the user to select and transfer all the images from the camera, or selected images only. Canon Utilities CameraWindow would then ask the user to set an output folder and then automatically proceed in transferring the image files. The application’s main window contains three tabs: Acquire Images Set to Camera, and Remote Shooting. Each tab contains advanced settings where users can configure how the program should work on transferring their image files.
