Comarch SmartCard is mainly used in Public Key Infrastructure or PKI applications that require security measures. With this technology customer transactions are made secure, especially when used in the banking industry. The card has 72kB card memory, which contains all pertinent data, certificates, and keys.
The card offers users with a highly secure means of completing transactions. Comarch SmartCard utilizes asymmetrical cryptography (RSA 512, 1024, 2048) to provide card holders with high level of card security. The card owner is the only person who has possession of the PIN (four to 16 characters made up of letters, figures and special characters) so that none other can gain access to the card. The private key is generated on the card, which in turn is used to sign a transaction. The information does not leave the microprocessor, which adds another layer of security. An administrator PIN or PUK is also in place. With all these measures in place, the private key cannot be copied by unauthorized parties.
Comarch SmartCard by ComArch S.A. supports different computer operating systems such as Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows. The following versions of Windows are compatible with the program: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, as well as Windows 98SE, Windows ME, and Windows 2000SP6.
