easySUP is a subtitle creator program developed by Dean Kasabow. It was first released on May 21, 2010. This application enables users to create SUB (DVD), SUP (BD), and BDN subtitles. Generated subtitles can be used with different programs supporting the SUP format such as multiAVCHD, tsMuxeR, Scenarist, and more. The program requires Java and AviSynth to work. A lite edition of the program is available called goSUP.
The application serves as an extended graphical user interface to avisynth + as2bdnxml + bdsup2sub + vsfilter. easySUP works by converting text-based subtitles from text formats to image-based BDN XML or SUP formats. The application can convert ASS (Advanced Sub Station Alpha), SSA (Sub Station Alpha), SUB (MicroDVD), and SRT (SubRIP) subtitle formats.
The interface of easySUP is intuitive. Its interface is a single-window that offers all the settings and configuration options straight from the main window. To use the program, users have to select the subtitle file then choose from the set of configuration options available. Afterwards, users just click on the Start button at the bottom of the page to convert the file to the support format. Available configuration options include export settings, appearance, and logo image. The program also displays basic information about the loaded file including the loaded subtitle file, video properties, video dimensions, and video duration.
