EA Sports (Proprietary)

FIFA 2001, or FIFA 2001 Major League Soccer, is a PC game developed by EA Sports. As its name suggests, it is a soccer game that is based from the real FIFA, or Fédération Internationale de Football Association. It features 50 national teams of the official FIFA game. It is played in 17 domestic leagues, and international competitions.

Players can select any team they want to play. They can also choose a player and uniform for each league. Soccer players to choose from are based from the real FIFA athletes. These include some of the famous FIFA soccer players, such as Paul Scholes, Edgar Davids, Thierry Henry, Shimon Gershon, Puval Kuka, and Gaizka Mendieta.

FIFA 2001 also covers commentary with real voice-overs from ESPN’s announcers. In this version, it features the voice of Julie Foudy and Phil Schoen. They replaced the play by play voice-overs of Mark Lawrenson and John Motson.

This program has simple-to-use and intuitive interface. It has sound effects that can be optionally turned off. The visual effects make the avatars, backgrounds, and other images real-like.

In addition, FIFA 2001 has a system and enhanced physics game that makes gameplay more realistic. The handling, receiving, and throwing of ball have improved. The speed of players and other technicalities of playing are also improved.
