FLV Encoder is a tool that may be used to convert and compress files in a variety of different formats into Flash FLV format (video). This utility may be used to convert AVI, MPEG, RM, and QuickTime files stored in the computer and it can also provide a continuous FLV stream through the embedded HTTP server that comes with the package. FLV Encoder by FLV Hosting is also capable of capturing still pictures and screen shots.
FLV Encoder can deliver the live video stream from a TV tuner or Web cam connected via USB. The audio stream is encoded in MP3, IMA ADPCM, and PCM. Meanwhile, the video stream is also FLV1 encoded. The player may also be used remotely. Users may also set the parameters of their own players.
FLV Encoder supports the following file types: MPEG-4, MPEG-3, MPEG-2, MPEG-1, MPEG, AVI, MP4, WMV 8 and WMV 7. Other formats supported are DivX 3 Lower Motion, Cinepak by Supermac, Cinepak Codec by Radius, as well as DivX 4, DivX 5, and XviD. FLV Encoder works only for Windows OS.
FLV Encoder may be accessed for free and does not require any online account. This utility does not take up much space in the hard disk. It requires a maximum of 100 MB on the drive.
