GeoSetter is a tool used for displaying and adding geotags to the EXIF information of photos and images. EXIF information displays image data including the camera used, settings when the photo was taken, and the model of the digital camera. This tool is used for tagging the photo according to where it was taken. The program supports a wide variety of camera models from top manufacturers, such as Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Konica, Sony, and others.
When photos are imported to the application, it shows the geo location of the image including the image directions and coordinates based on Google Maps. The computer must be connected to the Internet in order for this feature to work. Users can then add or edit the image’s EXIF information including the coordinates, time zone, country code, country, state or province, city, and sub location. Users can also add keywords for the image. The program can be used as an image management tool for large photo collections, especially for photos that were taken in different countries or locations. Other key features of the program are:
• Can automatically fill out the location fields
• Supports wide variety of image file formats including TIFF, RAW, JPEG, and many others
• Support for changing dates on pictures
