GrooveWalrus

GrooveWalrus is an audio player that has support for audio sites, such as Last.fm and GrooveShark. With this application, users can listen to music without having to go on the said audio websites. It is a standalone player where users can save their playlists and listen to music. The application has a simple user interface. Tracks from Last.fm and playlists created on GrooveShark can be imported to the application.

Users can view their playlist on the main window including the names of artists or bands, titles of songs, names of albums, and duration of each track. Users can also rate all the songs imported to the application, as well as view details of the song. The program’s player is located at the top portion of the main window. There are also command buttons for controlling the player including Play, Stop, Rewind, and Fast Forward. There are also different tabs on the main interface. The Biography tab allows users to read more about an artist. Other tabs include Favorites, Collection, List Sifter, and Options. GrooveWalrus also supports installation of different plug-ins to increase the program’s functionality. Some of these plug-ins include Sync, Minimode, Lyrics, Griddle, and Flash. The media player can also be controlled with hotkeys.
