The HP VGA Webcam is a hardware product from Hewlett-Packard that enables users to make video calls and take still images. It is equipped with a built-in microphone essential for video chatting and other voice services for an extended number of hours. As an added physical feature, it also comes with auto-pan/adjustable panning angles that can be increased or decreased according to one’s preferences.
The webcam driver is used to install the webcam and its program components into the user’s computer, including tools for capturing, editing, and sharing videos, as well as for editing and retouching photos. This version of the HP VGA webcam driver was released in March 2007 for supported notebook models and operating systems. To successfully install the driver for this device, users simply follow the on-screen instructions upon initiation of installation process then restart the system if prompted. The webcam driver also connects to the HP site to download product updates. It is compatible with Windows operating systems from XP to Vista.
Specifications-wise, the HP VGA webcam supports still image captures of up to 1.3 megapixels in 30 frames per second. The maximum video capture resolution is 640 x 480p. This device measures 3.03 x 2.17 x 2.2 inches and weighs approximately 0.20 lbs.
