Lime PRO P2P for Windows is the enhanced, paid version of the Limewire client. The Limewire client is a popular file sharing progam for the Microsoft Windows operating system. It is also available on the Linux and Mac OS platforms. It is a peer-to-peer file sharing program that harnessed the power of the gnutella network as well as the BitTorrent protocol to transfer files. It is a fast and easy way to share files of any type to users anywhere in the world using the Internet.
Only the free version of the Limewire client was available for a time. In October 2010, Lime Wire LLC, the developers of Limewire, released Lime PRO. It is an enhanced version of the program. It offers faster, more reliable downloads. Compared to the free version, it allowed connection to 10 hosts that offered the file for download whilst the free version only allowed 8 connections. Both versions, however provide the same secure Transport Layer Security or TLS protection to encrypt the file transfer and protect its users. Limewire uses DAAP or the Digital Audio Access Protocol. This allows, with user permission, the program to download audio onto devices that support DAAP via a local network connection. As of now, the program is currently discontinued and no longer receives updates from the developer.
The program is no longer available for download.
