Master of the Skies: The Red Ace is a first-person flight combat game set during the period of the First World War. Previously known as Hunt for the Red Baron, this game puts players in the role of a fighter pilot of the Allied forces who has been tasked to complete several missions. These missions include destroying ground tanks, saving other pilots, and ultimately facing the Red Baron himself, one the Allied Forces’ fiercest enemies.
The game is set in three locations: Africa, France, and Belgium, and players have to complete a total of 25 missions. Players will get to experience piloting four different types of aircraft that have been equipped with weapons, including bombs and machine guns. Each aircraft has a unique handling, and players must learn to pilot these well in order to accomplish missions. In addition, the ammunition provided is limited, so players must use these with care.
The game interface is simple and the game itself is easy to learn. Players can control the plane using only the mouse. Master of the Skies: The Red Ace also lets players add handling difficulty by configuring the game controls, such as mouse sensitivity, through the Options menu. Players can also choose to disable music and retain the sound effects. Furthermore, players can also change the viewing angles and screen resolution as needed.
