Media Center

Media Center is an application for organizing and playing multimedia files. It is capable of playing several video and audio file formats including FLAC, WAV, AIFF, AVI, and WMV. In addition, users can also view image files using the application.

Media Center can be used to rip from audio CDs and record using a microphone and the computer. The quality of the sound is not changed so users will end up with high quality files. Furthermore, the audio files transferred to the computer can be modified with the tools that come with the application. Some of the tasks that can be done include mixing, changing options for speaker control, and changing the bitdepth.

Playback of videos is easy with the application. The program consists of the Red October technology, which manages DirectShow filters. This eliminates the need to make any configurations on the player before playing a video. The application also has a feature called Theater View that allows users to watch across the room and control the program with the use of a remote control.

Media Center also comes with basic photo editing tools including resize, crop, and adjust. All the edited photos can be shared through email or other social networking accounts, such as Flickr, Twitter, and Facebook.
