MessenPass is a recovery program that aids users in retrieving passwords from different instant messenger programs. It supports a number of applications, such as Google Talk, Miranda, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Trillian, and many others. This application can only be used by the user who is currently logged in to the messenger account. Additionally, it can only recover those passwords that are remembered by instant messenger applications.
The program has a simple user interface that is easy to use even for beginners. Upon launching, it automatically detects the instant messaging programs that are installed in the computer. It then detects the passwords stored for each program and decrypts them, so that the user can retrieve the password. All usernames and their corresponding passwords are displayed on the main window of the application. Users can also manually select the folder where username and password information are stored. The program’s user interface is simple. It has four columns – software, protocol, user, and password. Green icons beside software names are the programs in which users are logged on. Users can view the username and retrieve the account’s password from the window as well.
MessenPass is an application that can be saved in a thumb drive. It does not need to be installed in a computer in order for it to work.
