Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart Collector’s Edition is a hidden object adventure game that was first released in 2012. The storyline revolves around a dead pirate whose preserved body is displayed in a maritime museum. The corpse then begins to perform odd behaviors. The pirate then kidnaps the daughter of the curator and brings her to a location called Skull Island.

The player’s goal is to rescue the daughter by looking for items that are hidden throughout different locations in Skull Island. In hidden object scenes, players are presented with a list of items that need to be found. Items are then crossed off from the list once the player has found them in the scene. In addition to the hidden object scenes, players are also presented with mini games in the form of puzzles. The collector’s edition of the game consists of bonus gameplay. There is also a built-in strategy guide that users can view when they are stuck in the game.
