PicturesToExe is an application that enables users to create various slideshows and convert them in a number of formats that can be used anywhere. It does not require installation on machines that display slideshows.

The application’s interface is simple and intuitive. Its multipane layout allows for easy navigation of directories and incorporation of images to slideshows with the program’s drag and drop feature. Slideshows may be customized by designating how long every image appears,  altering background colors, or incorporating various transition effects.  Transition effects include comments, sounds, and 3D effects that may be applied to slideshows. Custom animation options also include rotate, pan, and zoom of images, background music synchronization, slide-to-slide transitioning, or the Ken Burns effect. Saving slideshows may be done in a myriad of ways. They include screensavers, DVD, MP4, Apple and AVI video formats, and HD video, AVI video, Windows, and PC and MAC executable files. Security measures such as password file protection, print screen button blocking, and expiration date setting may be applied to slideshows that are designated as self-running executable files. The application can also upload created slideshows into popular sharing websites, such as Facebook and Youtube, or digital devices such as the iPad or iPhone.
