realMyst

realMyst is a remake of the graphic adventure game Myst. Unlike the original game, this version features real-time and free-roaming 3D graphics instead of stills. This includes weather effects such as sunrises, sunsets, and thunderstorms. The additions to the game were made to keep it in sync with the original story of the Myst sequels and novels. Aside from the visual additions, a new Age called Rime was also added to complete the original story. A Masterpiece Edition was released on February 2014 that includes the graphics of the original game and runs on the Unity engine. The Masterpiece Edition was developed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Myst, and includes reconstructed models and textures. The environments have also been enhanced to provide dynamic weather, foliage, water, and lighting.

In this game, players assume the role of the Stranger. They are invited to travel to and explore a deserted island called Myst using a special book. There they will discover a series of books written by an explorer and artisan named Atrus that are able to unlock alternate dimensions or Ages. Players must find and decode the clues hidden throughout the Ages to reveal the background stories of the characters in the game. The ending of the game would depend on the course of actions the players take.
